Helen started her netball journey over 50 years ago playing a feisty WD at primary school. She switched to GK in senior school and represented Somerset at Schools & County U14/16. Then, following lots of shooting practice went to GA at 17 and never looked back (until a back injury curtailed her playing career). Helen began umpiring at 13 and coaching at 18 at all levels and ages from 4-70 years and she is currently our lead coach at Wellington Netball Club. She says: 'Coaching has opened up so many opportunities for me and I have met some amazing people through this life experience. It is so pleasing to see skills and tactics implemented that you have taught. I say to everyone give netball a go!'

Describe Wellington Netball Club in 3 words - welcoming, enthusiastic, positivity
Jo has 30 year experience teaching PE in secondary schools and has always had a keen interest and enjoyment of netball. Jo played at Galmington (alongside our very own Helen Brunt) for several years and has enjoyed encouraging her daughter to develop as a player at the same club. She says: 'Since I left teaching (after a nasty knee injury skiing) I spent three seasons coaching at Richard Huish and am now in the middle of my second season at Blundells School. Coaching adults is a new one for me but I am confident it is going to be fun and rewarding!'
